Accredited courses are not a legal requirement, yes, you may find you need an accredited course dependant on the type of work you undertake however for any work carried out on your premises you may choose an in house course
We can provide an appointed person to provide lift planning for lorry loader operations. We are able to create both generic lift plans for basic lifting operations across your fleet as well as site specific plans for intermediate and complex lifts.
We can also offer a slinger/signaller and AP on site duties (ALLMI accredited with CSCS hologram).
We can offer an in house lorry loader course, again, adjusted to your specific needs, this often works out significantly cheaper than an accredited course as you no longer pay accreditation fees.
We can audit your operators licence to ensure you are compliant or we can assess your drivers in line with either the national standards or your company policies.
The DVSA guide "Careless Torque Costs Lives" states: "if the driver is made responsible for this check, make sure they are properly trained". This course will train candidates on the different types of wheel nuts, the safe use of torque wrenches, recording procedures and more.
The traffic commissioner has stated that where routing is left to drivers e.g. a planner/manager does not prescribe a route, then the company must ensure drivers are trained to identify correct routing.
Tail lifts are regularly used in the transport industry and very few drivers are ever trained on the safe use of tail lifts. LOLER regulations state that you must use competent people for lifting operations and a competent person is someone who is experienced and trained.
We can offer in house vehicle recovery training, this course can be adjusted to suit the vehicles you operate and the type of work you undertake.
We are looking to add this to our NPORS accredited courses shortly.
